"Mr. Dangerous"
Randy is currently the lead guitarist for the DashboardDivas and is also performing with his eXRayz bandmates.
Randy’s influences include all the Jimmys…Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Eat World, and Jhimi Changa.
He is a a veteran of many successful area bands and enjoys giving the crowd what they came to see.
Things can get a little crazy in this mixed up business, but he knows one thing, people like good music
and he is happiest when he is giving it to them.
Randy prefers Fender Guitars, DigiTech Effects, and J.B.L. speakers. He really likes playing the Blues,
Classic Rock, and some Alternative music. Not to hip to country….although Bob labeled him a “Country Bumpkin”
back in the day…but hey, Randy doesn’t have time to be bitter...hey Bob, how’s the frost out on the pumpkin?
Randy’s earliest memories of playing the guitar were with a small scale red box guitar that he use to strum
along with his mom’s am/fm radio…he would ask her…she plays the piano…how it sounded, and she would say…I
think it needs a little something yet. Those words must have hit home because they caused him to practice
harder. Soon he asked his father if he could trade his saddle for an electric guitar…he said YES….the guitar
was a Sears Silvertone, it had a small tube amp built into the guitar case…as he recalls, it wasn’t loud enough.
For his next move, he wormed my way into a group and started to play at school dances with equipment that
he borrowed from other band mates. Soon, he got a job washing dishes for seventy five cents an hour, saved up,
and bought a cherry red Gibson SG Special and an acoustic amp…with a little help from his father. If only
he still had that guitar. Before he got out of high school, he started playing nightclubs….he remembers falling
asleep in classes and napping in between sets at gigs…and even almost wrecking his fathers truck on the way
home from a gig one Friday night. Not long after that he dropped out of high school and moved away from home,
but fortunately the Seeley family was there to help him get back and finish school.
Around that time…Randy met Bob Teske…the two quickly became close friends and began a lifelong musical and
spiritual connection that they still key off of today. Randy moved into the Teske family house and Randy and
Bob began putting together the many Silverspoon lineups. Randy and Bob rented a house from Bob’s folks and
started a Christian Rock band called Fellowship Band. After a few years of writing and performing original
music, Fellowship Band disbanded and everyone went on to other things but remained close friends.
Next, Randy auditioned for the group Breaking Point where he met Beth Dutcher a singer that would become the
love of his life. They soon broke away and began their own group called Charmer…with a little help from a
former member of Fellowship Band…Greg Weiler. After that group broke up Beth and Randy went separate ways
for a while. Beth started the all girl band MzTakin, and Randy joined the Middle of the Road Band….when those
groups split up, Beth and Randy joined forces once again to form Tonight at Noon, Chemistry 101 with Herb and
Gail Kukulies, a duo named Oliver’s Twist, and finally DashBoard Divas. It was at the time of Chemistry 101
that Beth and Randy were married….and that brings us up to today. Randy is excited to jam with The eXRayz...and
hopes to see you dancin’ at the next show!
